Immediately report the UPI ID on your UPI account

Change all passwords for the accounts where your information may have been compromised.

Write down as many details of the compromised information and how the UPI fraud occurred.

Visit a police station to file an FIR.

File a complaint through the official National Cyber Crime website https://cybercrime.gov.in

The toll-free number of the Cyber Crime Cell for any assistance required whilst filing a complaint is 1930.

Contact the cyber cell department of the RBI. The list of all nodal agencies across India, along with their contact information, can be found on this here. 

Impersonating Genuine Sellers UPI Fraud is when the fraudsters use the name of a genuine company to accept payment. This can be done by inserting malware at the “redirecting to payment gateway” page. The fraudsters then gain access to your UPI id when payment is made, which can be further used for identity theft.

In Phishing UPI Fraud, the original UPI payment links or UPI handles are changed to the fraudster’s fake UPI handle.
