I was recently looking for a long term investment that could give me risk free returns. I had just received a Diwali bonus and collected some money in my Gullak.

Then, I went to the post office, where I saw a banner. a banner beside the post office entrance saying, Invest in National Savings Certificate NSC, below that written, earn 6.8 percent interest, below that write rupees 1000 invested now becomes rupees 1389.49 in five years

I found this scheme interesting and immediately enquired about it at the post office counter. I understood about the scheme and decided to invest my additional savings in it.
