What to do if you lost your ATM card?

You can take action in three ways if you lose your ATM card:

  • Call the toll-free number of your bank

 

  • You can find the number through a simple Google search or check your bank passbook/ other documents

 

  • Dial the option for talking to Customer Care executive/representative

 

  • Share your ATM/Debit card number or the last 4 digits of your bank account number or the registered mobile number when asked

 

  • Ask for the lost card to be blocked immediately. This is a very important step and can prevent loss of money

 

  • Ask for a new ATM/Debit card to be issued to you

 

  • The new card will be sent to your registered address within 8-10 working days

 

  • The bank may charge an additional fees for this new card

  • Open your bank’s mobile application

 

  • Enter details to login

 

  • Go to the menu and choose Debit Card/ Credit Card from Card or Pay section, depending on what is lost

 

  • Choose ‘Block Card’

 

  • Apply for re-issue of the Debit/ Credit card

Visiting your nearest Bank Branch

  • Visit your bank’s nearest branch

 

  • Ask the bank employee to block the lost card. The staff will not charge you for this.

 

  • Ask them to re-issue another card. The bank may charge you for the new card.

 

  • Within 8-10 working days the new card will be delivered to your registered address
