What is a Passbook?

A passbook is a notebook that a bank gives you when you open a bank account.
It helps you keep a record of your transactions such as:
Debit (Where you are spending), Credit (your earnings), FDs, RDs, and other investments.

Pro tip:

You will be given a passbook when you open a bank account, for no extra documentation or cost. In case the passbook is lost, damaged or used up fully, you can get a new passbook from your bank.

In the next chapter, let's see how you can apply for a new passbook
