    How to close your RD account?

  • You can close your RD account both offline and online

 

  • For offline closure of RD, visit your bank branch

 

  • Submit a request for the closure of your RD account

 

  • Your redemption amount will automatically be added to your savings account that is connected to your RD

If you want to close your RD online through your mobile banking app, follow these steps:

    Open your RD in your mobile banking app

  • Icon

    Click on the RD account you wish to close

  • Icon

    Select – Close A/C

  • Icon

    Check the details regarding your redeemable value (the amount you are going to receive)

  • Icon

    Click on Confirm

  • Icon

    Verify the redemption by entering the OTP sent to your registered mobile number

  • Icon

    Your redemption amount will automatically be added to your savings account connected to your RD

Please note that no bank official or bank will call you or email you for any OTP, user-ID, password, PIN or any card number and CVV.

    Is partial withdrawal allowed in recurring deposits?

No, partial withdrawals are not allowed in recurring deposits

What is the penalty for premature withdrawal of RD?

    If you withdraw your RD before its maturity, you will get the interest rate applicable till your deposit has remained in the RD, but some percentage of it will be deducted

  • Icon

    The bank will apply a 1% penalty for premature withdrawal

  • Icon

    A few banks might also deduct 2% interest on premature withdrawal

  • Icon

    You can check with your bank before placing your withdrawal request

  • Icon

    The minimum RD period is three months, and no interest will be paid on premature withdrawal

    In all the cases, your deposited money will be returned to you

    Minimum investment in a recurring deposit can be ₹10/- (in a post office Recurring deposit) and ₹100/- (for Bank Recurring Deposits)
