Smishing messages often force you to click on the link by:
Creating fear by stating your bank account might be deleted, or
Trying to excite you by saying you have won a lottery so that you click the link
Gain your trust by pretending to be your friend or relative
Once you click on the link, it will:
Redirect the target to a fake website
Install malware into your devices, which only the attacker can fix for a sum of money
