What is SIM Swapping?

SIM swap is a mobile banking fraud where after you’ve been phished, vished, or email spoofed.

The attacker contacts your telephone company to request a new SIM card on your number, stating that your SIM card has been lost.

  • Since they have obtained other personal information about you, they can even convince the telephone company.

 

  • Once they obtain the new SIM, they can make payments through your cards freely.

 

  • The SIM card can also be used to log into all of your online accounts through verification over OTP.
