Visit your nearest authorized PAN card agency.
Submit your ID proof and Address proof copies. Please also carry the originals for verification.
The agent there would ask for your details like your full name, address, phone number, middle name, date of birth, two passport size photographs, and signature or thumb print.
After providing all these details, you will have to pay the PAN card application fees which would depend on whether you have chosen NSDL or UTIITSL. (please check the online application process to know the difference in fees.)
The agent might also charge a minimal fee for the service.
After the payment is done and application is made, please collect your application acknowledgement receipt or number, filled application form and receipt for the service for further communication.
Once the application is approved, your PAN card will be shipped and will reach you at your given address.
If you have already had a PAN card but lost it or if it is destroyed, you can get a duplicate one. If you have been found to have more than one PAN number in your name you would be liable for a punishment under law and will attract a ₹10,000 fine.
Do not staple or clip the photos, stick them instead.
Sign across the photo on the left side, not the right side.
Always sign within the box provided.
If you use your left thumb impression instead of a signature, get it attested by a gazetted officer or a notary.
Always read the document you sign. Or, ask someone you trust to read and explain the document to you before you sign it.
