Who is eligible to invest in NPS?

Any individual between 18 years to 70 years of age is eligible to invest in NPS.

What are the documents required to open an account in NPS?

You only need to verify your identity using your PAN and Aadhaar Number.


No other documents are required for opening an NPS account.

Please note that no one from NPS, a broker, a bank official or a bank will call you or email you for any OTP, user-ID, password, PIN or any card number and CVV.

Can I invest in NPS offline? 

  • You can invest in NPS offline by reaching your nearest National Pension Scheme Point of Presence (PoP).

  • These PoPs are generally banks or Investment Brokers that are present in your area.

  • You can find the list of empanelled PoPs through this website.

How to start investing in NPS online?


  • Click on the “National Pension System” button.

  • A pop-up window will open.

  • Click on the “Registration” button.

  • Fill out the NPS new registration form.

  • Verify your details with an OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.

  • Select, whether you want your PRAN card in virtual form (online) or physical form.

  • Your PRAN number will be generated.

  • Now, download the NPS mobile app.

  • Set your password for the account.

  • Log in using your PRAN and Password.

  • Your account is now ready for investing.

  • Choose your investments and pay using UPI, netbanking or debit card.
