Sumati uses Rs. 1000 every month from her salary to pay the premiums of health and life insurance plans for her and her children.

Leela thinks her salary is not enough to buy insurance and if she spends on paying premium, she will not have enough for her daily expenses. She will wait for 5 more years for her salary to increase and then buy insurance.

One day, when Sumati and Leela were returning home from work in a bus, the bus met with an accident. Both of them were seriously hurt and admitted to a hospital.

Sumati got good treatment and her family claimed medical insurance which covered most of the treatment cost.

Leela’s family brought her home because they could not afford the hospitalisation charges. They borrowed a lot of money to pay for the medicines and treatment. Because Leela did not get good medical care, she lost her leg.
