How to complain if AEPS fraud is conducted

In case you fall prey to an AEPS fraud, follow the steps given below for the best chances of retrieving your money

Step 1:

Write a letter to the Bank Branch Manager using the following format-

Subject: Application for Refund on Failed AEPS transaction

 

Dear Sir/ Ma’am, I hold a bank account in your bank branch.

My Account Number is _________________.

On ________ date, I tried to withdraw rupees_____(amount) through _______(AEPS Centre name)_________ AEPS Centre with my Aadhaar Number and Fingerprint.

The transaction failed due to a technical problem, but the money was debited from my account. The AEPS agent refused to give me the amount that was debited and has asked me to report the incident to get a refund.

I am enclosing the details of the transaction to this letter:

Step 2:

Submit this letter at your bank branch under “Register a complaint.” Get a receipt from the bank as confirmation that you have submitted the complaint. You should have an answer within 5-8 working days.
